Lydia Jazmine makes her mark with debut concert
Lydia Jazmine performs on Friday.

Jazmine had never had a solo concert despite previous attempts. But on Friday, her dream came to life when she successfully had her maiden concert at Africana people’s space.

Ten years in the music industry, Lydia Jazmine had achieved it all. A number of hits in her catalogue, some awards along the way and one of Uganda's best female artistes. But the puzzle was still incomplete.

Jazmine had never had a solo concert despite previous attempts.

However, on Friday, her dream came to life when she successfully had her maiden concert at Africana people’s space.

Being a celebration of ten years in the game, Lydia Jazmine came big at this concert. She performed to people’s expectation, impressed with her outfits, changing not less than five times the entire time and got deserving support from the hundreds in attendance and fellow artistes who collaborated with her on stage and those who supported her financially by buying tables.

Like Jazmine, Fenon events came big at this concert. They set up two visible screens at every end of the stage. These enabled everyone in the audience to get a glimpse of what all the action on the stage.

Whoever was responsible for the graphics was on top of their game. The graphics synchronized well with the on-stage action like a moment when Jazmine came dressed as a mermaid, the graphics team displayed an ocean art as the background on the screens.

It was a magnificent sight.

Lydia Jazmine had three sessions in which she did different songs. The first session, she performed some of her earlier songs including Nkubanja, Masuuka and Omalawo among others, leaving the stage for fellow artistes like Pia Pounds, Lilian Mbabazi, Toniks and Henry Tigan.

In the second set, the 33-year-old came different, doing mainly collaborations that included Same Way with Geosteady, Empoole with Feffe Bussi, Goodnight with Rickman, Singa with John Blaq and No letting Go with Beenie Gunter who had just returned from exile in UAE.

She also did You Know, her first hit alongside Rabadaba with a Saxophonist because Rabadaba is apparently in the UK as well as You and Me alongside Michael Ouma because Daddy Andre was not around.

During the second session's short break, Hajjati Sofie Nantongo and Chance Nalubega used the time to work the crowd with their songs. Nantongo impressed with Binyuma while Nalubega excited the crowd with Abateesi rmx and Dear Wange among others.

In her last session, Jazmine did songs like Olindaki, Omalawo and Hit and Run among others, thanking the crowd for not disappointing her, thanking her family for allowing her to chase her musical dream, her sponsors and promoter for believing in her.

The performance was nothing short of spectacular as Lydia Jazmine showed the world she has come of age in the music industry , leaving the audience in awe.
